He retired from Williamson Manufacturing Company as a machinist after many years of service. Within the last few years, he also retired as pastor of the Broadway Baptist Church, having served the congregation for twenty-five years.

On April 26, 2008, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Humes.

Reverend Scott was a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion, Madison, and enjoyed reading and being around people, sharing the word of God.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Elizabeth Humes-Scott of Madison; his daughters: Delores Taylor of New Albany, Indiana, Debbie Robinson of Madison, Sonja Logsdon of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Bobbi Jo Scott of Louisville, Kentucky; his step daughters: Debra Carter of Acworth, Georgia; Shawna Walden of Evansville, Indiana, and Mary Reed of Madison; his step sons: Charles Louis Humes of Madison, Michael Jeffrey Humes of Madison, Shawn A. Humes of Clarksville, Indiana, Arthur Gibson of Madison and Brian Gibson of Madison; his sister, Mary Ann Barber of Louisville; eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Linda (Perry) Scott, and his second wife, Priscilla Mae (GIbson) Scott.

Reverend Harvey Leggett, Jr. will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Broadway Baptist Church, 615 Broadway Street, in Downtown Madison, with interment to follow in Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the Honor Guard from the United States Air Force and the Honor Guard from Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion.
