Mary V. Koerner, age 92, of Franklin, Indiana, formerly of Madison, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Homeview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. Born May 21, 1926 in Blasdell, New York, she was the daughter of Edward T. and Mary (Eckert) Byron.

Mrs. Koerner graduated high school in New York, and on June 9, 1945, she was united in marriage to William J. Koerner, who preceded her in death on May 7, 1983.
She moved to Dupont in 1976, and then to Madison, before moving to Greenwood, Indiana, and Indianapolis in 1985, and Franklin. While living in Madison, she was a very active member of the First Assembly of God Church (now known as Madison Assembly of God Church), serving as a deaconess, Sunday School teacher, and in other positions including church secretary for four years. She also served as secretary for churches in other towns where she lived.
Mrs. Koerner enjoyed reading, traveling with her late husband on business trips, traveling with friends, and word search games.
She will be sadly missed by two daughters: Barbara Irwin of Greenfield, Indiana and Judith Hartman and her husband, Darrell of Greenwood, Indiana; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. .
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her biological mother, Edna Kocher; one brother, Robert Byron; and two grandchildren.
At her request, private interment will be in Springdale Cemetery.
